The Great Lakes Scrip Program
Dear Parents/Guardians:
For the second consecutive year, Quander Road School PTSA will participate in the Great Lakes Scrip Program which is a means to earn substantial revenue to support our students’ education by simply shopping at our favorite retailers!
What is Scrip?
Scrip is either a paper certificate or plastic gift card, which participants purchase at face value and spend just as you would money. The plastic gift cards have a running "memory." If you have a $50 card but purchase only $15 with the card the balance of $35 remains on the card until the next time you use it. When you use a paper certificate, the merchant refunds the unused balance at the time of purchase. For example, if you have a $20 gift certificate the cashier will give you $3 in cash. (However, for this reason, some retailers will not allow you to use a paper certificate if your purchase total does not come close to its face value.) On average, about 5% of the scrip’s face value will go to our PTSA.
How do I order Scrip?
First - With original order – submit completed "Enrollment Form" and, if you choose, "Waiver of Responsibility for Parents," or "Waiver of Responsibility for Staff" (both are attached). You can also print these forms from our PTSA website – www.fcps.edu/QuanderRoadSchool (click on the link to PTSA) or www.QuanderPTSA.org (go to Fundraising).
Next - Refer to the attached "Family Order Form" which contains a list of available scrip and donation percentages. You can also view and print order forms at glscrip.com.
Then - Order in one of three ways. Payment method is the same for all order methods. (Include an extra $1 for postage and materials if your order is being mailed to you.)
1. Write out scrip order and Email to bookwoman991@gmail.com. Include your name, student’s name, and your phone #. Then, send check payable to Quander Road School PTSA to the front office with your student or mail to address on Family Order Form.
or
2. Write down order on paper or complete order form; then, mail or send with your check, as directed above.
3. Order online at shopwithscrip.com. Follow registration instructions, and use organization enrollment code 1B61LBF17769, when prompted. Then mail or send in check as directed above.
To ensure that your order is included Wednesday’s order, please place and pay for it by Tuesday. Unfortunately, we cannot process your order without payment.
How long will I wait for my Scrip Order?
Plan at least one week ahead. Scrip orders will be consolidated into one weekly order that is submitted on Wednesday. These orders will usually be ready for pick up/delivery on the following Wednesday. If the our net revenue from the consolidated order does not cover the $7.50 shipping charge, we may offer you a choice of canceling your order or delaying it by a week or two to allow time for additional orders.
If you complete the attached "Waiver of Responsibility," your scrip order will be sent home with your child or mailed to your house, as specified. If you select the second option, please add $1 to your payment to cover the cost of postage and packaging. If you choose not to sign the waiver, we will contact you when your order is ready so that you can arrange to pick it up at the school.
